Soapstone Sculpture

Born in 1958, Ross became a full time sculptor at the age of 17. His love of nature and wildlife led him to create many wonderful sculptures in stone including a large bear that Pierre Trudeau gave to Princess Diana and Prince Charles on their wedding.

The Stone of choice for Ross is a Canadian Steatite or Soapstone. It is quarried in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, approximately 200 miles east of his studio. Each piece is a unique and hand-carved creation.
