It is said that being in the 'right place' can result in the most unexpected pleasures. It was in 1977 that I was first introduced to the world of lampshades by one Henrietta Anthony. In 1991, I became inflamed with desire to move to the country and 'do my own thing'.

This involves long forgotten objects to become functional in other forms. They become lamps.
Old bee smokers, weigh scales, musical instruments, sewing machines, cameras, apple-peelers, tools, motors and parts of equipment are mounted on a base which is electrified. Shades are created, starting very simply with a white piece of paper, to compliment the object. In short, the object 'talks to me'. You may see it all, the cutting and assembling, gluing, welding, and painting which is done with lacquer. Bring your own interesting items and see if they 'talk to me'. You never know.
